: Michael & Janet to tour? :
| February-24-2007

From Q Generation

It had to happen eventually: With no work coming his way, Michael Jackson, sources say, has agreed to do a tour with sister Janet and his brothers.

I'm told that Michael reluctantly met with his siblings on Monday in Las Vegas. Sisters Janet and Rebbie, as well as Jermaine, Randy, Marlon, Tito and Jackie, all knocked on Jackson's Las Vegas door around 7:30 p.m. Nanny Grace Rwaramba, who runs the door, made them wait between 30 and 60 minutes before allowing the brood in.

What was discussed was the family's financial situation and the fact that Jackson has so far been unable to get work in Vegas. Sources say concert promoter Leonard Rowe of Atlanta, who worked with the Jacksons in the 1980s, was there and made a proposal: a family tour with all members.

That's good, too, because Jackson is still "radioactive," according to those familiar with the casino business. For example: The owner of one big casino hotel in the Caribbean recently told his chief executive to make sure Jackson was not invited to a big music event being arranged there this summer.

A successful Jackson family tour could change all that for Michael. It would also be a financial boon to a family that needs cash in a hurry. Jackson recently took a new mortgage on his parents' home, and his own home — the Neverland Valley Ranch — is in hoc to the tune of $25 million. Jackson himself relies on cash from royalties on his own songs. But that only comes to a maximum of $7 million a year. As described in court testimony, Jackson could go through that kind of money in just a couple of weeks.

The tour idea also works for Janet Jackson, whose last two albums have been huge duds. The idea of Michael and Janet performing a couple of duets, or Janet's brothers backing her on her own hits, would be a tantalizing notion to any promoter.

The question remains: If Michael agreed, will he go through with it? Stay tuned ...

: More American Idol news :
site news icon site news | February-24-2007

From BuddyTv.com

Despite initially shooting down the idea as a rumor, it now appears that Michael Jackson is in serious negations to appear on American Idol. The gloved one met with American Idol creator Simon Fuller in Las Vegas to discuss multiple options for reigniting Jackson’s career, and an appearance on American Idol was definitely amongst them? Says who? Read on to find out.

The news that Michael Jackson is considering an appearance on American Idol comes directly from American Idol host Ryan Seacrest who put himself on the record this week with US Weekly. According to Seacrest, Jackson is not only in negotiations , but everybody in the American Idol camp is seething with excitement. Seacrest told US Weekly “It would definitely make compelling television."

Compelling indeed seeing as though Jackson had a near meltdown at his last attempt at a live come-back, and that was without the pressure of home town hostilities.   Jackson would not only be showing his face on American Idol, one of the most watched shows on television, he’d be doing it a mere hop skip and a jump from Neverland and the community that just recently put him on trial for child molestation. (He was acquitted, by the way.)

With rumors that Rock and Roll royalty Paul McCartney may be making an appearance, does American Idol really need Michael Jackson? Would a Jacko appearance bring anything but grim fascination to the American Idol viewership? If Jackson were to botch the gig, would the stigma become an unwanted part of American Idol history? All of these questions are irrelevant of course, because the finalizing of a Jackson appearance on American Idol would be front page news and no one in their right mind would turn down that kind of publicity. So when will we know?   With the rate at which information is leaking, it seems American Idol producers could make an announcement any day. What do you think? Should Michael Jackson appear on American Idol? Would it be good for the show? Or just plain bad?

Radio Station Prank Angers Jackson Fans

(CBS13) STOCKTON Michael Jackson is not dead despite what you might have heard on a radio station on Friday morning.

It was a text message joke that one of the D.J.s at KWIN received and decided to read on the air. It sure got a lot of reactions from listeners including one member of the extended Jackson family.

"I can't believe you [expletive] would do something like that," said one angry listener.

"I love Michael Jackson,” said a listener.

Is he dead?" asked one listener.

A radio duo told thousands of listeners that Michael Jackson had died last night in Las Vegas.

“People were upset. People were crying,” said D.J. Double J.

“Did he really die?” asked a listener.

“The punch line was that the Associated Press was reporting that he ate some 12-year-old spoiled nuts,” said D.J. Double J, one of two D.J.s behind the prank.

"Twelve-year-old nuts? What the hell is wrong with you, boy?" asked one listener.
