Michael Jackson Headquarters (MJHQ) started in 1998 with a simple website called "Brace Yourself". Our URL at the time was http://www.angelfire.com/ks/michaeljackson . Some of your might remember us! At the time we had one of the biggest MJ fan site webrings, and also one of the most interactive sites on the web that were dedicated to Michael Jackson.

The site never got big until 2004 when we got the main MJHQ.com domain and opened up our fan community soon after. Our forums grew to over 2,000 members in the next year, and the entires ite and community enjoyed a huge success.

We have always led our community with the idea of openess. It's a free community and poeple are able to express their real opinions rather they be positive or negative, just as long as they're honest. This is a idea that other MJ communities do not seem to accept, which makes us completely unique.

Our main site colors have been black and gold since 2004, with acouple colors in between for testing purposes, but we've always stayed black and gold. We feel that it expresses MJ's true style, which is completely awesome.

We take pride in the fact that our sites are almost 100% hand coded, and the graphics are usually always made by the MJHQ Staff. Most sites use community script software which automatically does everything for them, but manually hand crafting MJHQ is one of the many things that gives the site its unique feel.
