: Jackson’s tour to become tribute concert :
music news | June-27-2009
The show will go on for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour.

The announcement was made at a June 26 memorial gathering for Jackson, held by the tour’s cast and crew.

According to a tour organizer, one performance will now be held in September and will be a replica of what was planned for “This Is It” in London.

High-profile singers are expected to perform in place of Jackson. Among them, possibly Madonna, who was expected to appear at one of Jackson’s shows in London. A firm decision has not been made as to where the tribute concert will take place, but it’s likely to be in Los Angeles.

: King of Pop, Michael Jackson, Passed Away :
music news | June-25-2009
MJHQ Note: I really didnt want to post any news on this, since we all probably already know, but i had to post something. This is a clean news article that i found.

Prominent music figure, , has passed away on Thursday, June 25. He was 50 and is survived by three children; Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Representatives for the King of Pop haven't given immediate comment just yet on the news nor have they given specific details on the cause of his death. In the meantime, words have been circulating that he died of cardiac arrest.

According to TMZ, Michael suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday afternoon at his Holmby Hills home. One of his staff members reportedly called 911, but when paramedics arrived the singer was already dead. "When paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the site wrote.

Michael was quickly rushed to U.C.L.A. Medical Center, a six-minute drive from the rented mansion in which he was living. Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive. Michael's sister, La Toya Jackson, reportedly was seen in the hospital and sobbing after he was pronounced dead.

: Some Site & Forum updates :
music news | March-24-2009

I have not been able to update the site lately due to being so busy with real life stuff (work, etc). I had a couple days off so I decided it was the time to do some work on the site. I still have alot to do which i may attempt to night, but we'll see.

I am working on getting the Multimedia Section up. This includes listing of downloads, Lyrics, Speeches & interviews, and possibly even photo galleries.

I am unsure if i want to set another photo gallery up for many reasons: You can find MJ pictures on almost any MJ site, and there are tons of galleries exclusively for mj only on most MJ fan sites, so it'd be a waste of space and bandwidth, but then again It'll be nice to have all that in once spot.
I do wanna have a gallery, but it takes alot of time. If i find a good enough script that'll simplify the process and keep the sites existing layout, then we can do it.

So so far these are the album lyricsthat i have up so far:
Off The Wall:
http://www.mjhq.com/lyrics-offthewall.php

Bad:
http://www.mjhq.com/lyrics-bad.php

Dangerous:
http://www.mjhq.com/lyrics-dangerous.php

HIStory:
http://www.mjhq.com/lyrics-history.php

And the rest of the albums should be done tonight. We'll see what happens.

I have also done some minor rearranging of the forums and subforums.
When we started all of our main discussions took place in the "MJ General Discussion", All MJ related discussions took place here, a long with MJHQ news and updates. I separated the MJ news and updates and gave them their own category at the top of the forum which pushed "MJ & General Discussion" to a lower location on the forum.
I think that this may have led to some confusion and maybe even have discouraged some people from posting.
So i went ahead and removed the category for MJHQ site news and updates. and placed all that back into MJ General Discussion, and now its at the top of the forum again.
I think this is a good change, because I don't think many people even accessed the Site Updates and news, and besides There arent many updates to keep a section only for it. I think also that more people will see the updates if i post them in the main forum. I think it'll all work out good. We all come to discuss MJ so there is no reason to have the main MJ chat any other place than the top of the forum.

More changes are soon to come, especially regarding a contest with real prizes! So keep checking in!

: MJ's 50 concert dates sell out 4 hours. :
site news icon site news | March-13-2009
Michael Jackson's 50 dates at London's O2 arena sell out

The King of Pop's residency has completely sold out in just a few hours with fans snapping up more than a million tickets

Tickets for Michael Jackson's 50 live dates at London's O2 arena have sold out, meaning that a staggering one million tickets to see the singer have been bought in a matter of hours.

Dates for the summer residency, beginning on 8 July, had been extended to 50 nights – one for each year of Jackson's life. The singer is said to be "thrilled" by the response, though no doubt his promoters are even happier. "Not only are these concerts unparalleled, these records have never been broken," said Randy Phillips, of promoters AEG Live. "We knew this was show business history, but this is a cultural phenomenon".

Tickets only went on sale on Friday 13 March, with pre-sale allocation available yesterday, and Ticketmaster described the demand as "unprecedented". Fans queued overnight outside the O2 arena in Greenwich, south-east London, in the hope of avoiding jammed phonelines. However, those not lucky enough to secure a ticket can head to eBay to buy them second hand, providing they are prepared to pay between £170 and £10,000.

Jackson confirmed details of his O2 arena residency last week with the words: "When I say this is it, I mean this is it," prompting many to question whether this will be his farewell tour.

Those who managed to buy tickets for the singer's first full concert in 12 years can expect to hear "the songs my fans want". Tabloid speculation this week claimed these would include classics such as Billie Jean and The Way You Make Me Feel. And with the This Is It dates now stretching into 2010, Jackson has plenty of opportunity to perfect them.

: Jackson reveals London gig dates :
site news icon site news | March-11-2009
Singer Michael Jackson has revealed the dates of his shows at London's O2.

The self-styled King of Pop will make his return to the stage in July with a 10-night residency.
More than a million people have reportedly registered to buy tickets, which go on sale in two stages later this week. The shows will take place on 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 22, 24, 26 and 28 July. Promoter Randy Phillips said demand had "exceeded our wildest expectations". He added: "We are making showbusiness history here. "This is the last chance to see Michael Jackson in London, we are doing everything we can to ensure as many fans as possible can be a part of the experience."

Tickets will cost between £50 and £75, plus booking fees. Fans who get through the registration process will be sent an e-mail with a code allowing them to log on to a website to buy tickets on Wednesday.
The rest of the tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday.

'More shows'

It has been reported that Jackson may stage more shows.

A spokeswoman for promoter AEG Live said: "Nothing has been confirmed yet but those people who miss out this time will be the first to hear if there are any announcements."
Last week, Jackson announced he would be taking to the stage last week during a press conference in London. He told hundreds of screaming fans that the shows would be his last. "When I say this is it, I really mean this is it," he said.
"This is the final curtain call."

Jackson last toured 12 years ago. In 2006, he performed at the World Music Awards in London, but disappointed fans by singing just a few lines of We Are The World.

: "Micahel Jackson Headquarters" :
site news icon site news | March-04-2009
I am bringing the site back online, back to its original  subject: Michael Jackson.

The site has basically been offline for a while due to nothing really happening in the Michael Jackson world, so there was nothing to talk about, and therefore the site wasnt active, and wasn't online as much as it should be. Things were tried, nothing worked,

but now that Michael has announced new concerts in the UK. The site has a purpose again! I'll be working in the next few days to restore the site to its original MJ theming.

Hope to see you all soon!
WOOT MJ is back!
